An update on donations to Sarah

donations to Sarah

Hi All,

Readers of she cooks, she gardens will know the story of Sarah Abrahamson. A 28 year old mother who was diagnosed with life threatening brain tumours. She was recently operated on to have them removed, a procedure many doctors thought would not be possible. She survived and is now on the long road to recovery. We have been raising money to support Sarah’s family during this difficult period to try and lighten the load. For more information please read the previous blog post and have a look at the online donation portal.

An update:

Thank you all so much for your generous donations.

We have today hit $4000 after an incredibly generous donation from the members at United Voice. Supporters have held morning teas and dug deep to support an incredibly worthwhile cause. It is so wonderful to see the level of generosity, with donations coming from as far away as Bahrain.

While the online donation portal has closed, direct donations to Sarah’s trust account are still possible. If you would like to make a donation to this account please email me at: erin @ shecooksshegardens.com or complete the contact box below.

Each donation helps ease the burden for Sarah and her family so thank you all so much for supporting Sarah during this difficult time.

An update on Sarah from Chloe:

There is a slight improvement in Sarah, but of course a long way to go. Sarah has been unable to speak and it has been understandably quite frustrating for her. They have found around her voicebox a coating of hardened phlegm. They are trying to work out how the best way to treat it and an EN&T Specialist has been called in. Whether this is the cause of her not able to make sound we will need to wait. Sarah is now doing exercises from a sitting up position with the help of physios who are holding her head as she hasn’t got the strength to uphold her head at the moment. Little steps but enormous steps to Sarah and her family.

Best,

Erin Brooks

Hi Erin. So happy to read this update and sorry I missed it back in August! I hope that now, 3 months on, Sarah has taken even more steps on her road to recovery. Wishing you both a very Merry Christmas x
